Hi Friends,
I unfortunately come bearing the sad news that my grandmother, Dianne Pence, passed away earlier this week. She lived in Kirkwood for the better part of fifty years, first helping to raise my my dad and his sisters from a small house on Woodbine and later re-establishing her Kirkwood bonafides in a condo near downtown from which she made regular commutes to the library and the YMCA and everywhere in between. I frequently joked that the only person who read the Kirkwood Gadfly was my grandma, so I like to imagine I played some small part in her decision to pursue walkable urban living for her final act.

Anyone who met her can attest to the fact that Dianne was as kind and as giving as they come. I will miss her dearly, and I know Kirkwood's sidewalks and the good people she encountered upon them will as well.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts you've extended to me and my family and talk very soon,

Parker
