Thank you for all the incredibly kind messages last week. I'm still getting caught up after being out a few days, but there are two urgent items this week that I need your help with, so let's get into it!

- The BIG question with regard to tonight's Council agenda is whether the Council will approve the rezoning of three corners of the Sarah-N. Kirkwood intersection to allow three small condo buildings. This thing is going to be CLOSE, so I strongly encourage you to email City Clerk Laurie Asche (aschelb@kirkwoodmo.org) / your Council members (especially CMs Arnold and McLean) and let them know you support this rezoning. I believe that small condos are the best possible outcome in this part of Kirkwood, and that's exactly what the R-5 zoning code allows.
- This afternoon's work session agenda features discussion of the draft language for the new stormwater ordinances, including the following: "the maximum impervious coverage on a site to be no more tha[n] 55% and no more than 70% for multi-family developments." I can't emphasize enough how damaging this would be to housing affordability, sustainability, and economic development in Kirkwood. This is a de facto ban on apartments in Downtown Kirkwood. Neither The Madison, nor The Barclay, nor The Hutton, nor Kirkwood Plaza would qualify under this rule. Again, please email Laurie (aschelb@kirkwoodmo.org) / your Council members and ask them to strike this portion of the proposed ordinance, it will have severe unintended consequences, including jeopordizing Kirkwood's chances at winning new sources of funding from the recently passed bipartisan ROAD to Housing law.
