Look Guys,
I'm working hard at the new job (which is amazing but also very challenging), I'm working hard on the Kirkwood Water analysis (that I've been hinting at for the past two months), I just got home from trivia (it didn't go well), and there's not much news this week (thank God). But you get what you pay for! (except for you, my incredible donors), So I'm going to try to give you what I can, and you're going to bear with me. I appreciate the patience from you all!

Let's get into some Quick Hits!
Quick Hits:
  • The April 7th City Council and School Board elections are only one week away; have you made a plan to vote? Just checking!
  • Interested in opening a boutique hotel in Downtown Kirkwood? In search of the perfect location? Did you know that the Kirkwood Glass site is now for sale? In response to the Public Works site RFP, the city heard from developers that a boutique hotel in Downtown would need to be located directly on Kirkwood Road to be viable. There are not many viable sites in the Downtown section of Kirkwood Road, but this is one of them. It's got the right zoning, it's right by KPAC, the train station, the Farmer's Market, Grant's Trail, etc. If Kirkwood is ever going to land its white whale, this is the spot. Fingers crossed! (I will add, though, this makes the council's decision not to include a retail component in the public works site even more suspect)
  • In last week's Webster-Kirkwood Times:
    • On pg. 1, a positive update on Marshall Fields, which Kirkwood United youth soccer club seems to be eyeing
    • On pg. 4, an update on the city's financial situation. I still am very skeptical of some of this framing, as I mentioned, this very Council voted to greenlight much of the excess spending that has jeopardized the city's financial standing
That's it for this week! Have a great weekend, everyone!
