We did it! After a long, hard fight, all three of our preferred City Council candidates —Sheila Burkett, Deb Lavender, and Justin Arnold— were elected to Kirkwood City Council on Tuesday. In the end, it didn't wind up being very close as they each topped incumbent Al Rheinnecker by more than 1,000 votes.

Now comes the hard part. Kirkwood faces no shortage of challenges and the solutions will require hard work, and innovative thinking, and grappling with a whole lot of tradeoffs. But it's also important that we stop for a moment and celebrate how far we've come and dream about what comes next.
